"This recording was originally made as a reference for ourselves while touring, and as an archive of our live performance. We have cleaned up the original master recordings, however they have not otherwise been re-touched or over-dubbed in any way."

Reviews:
I had a chance to go through all 6 CDs from the 3 concerts and here is my opinion on the music:
CD 1 & 2: Germany
As everyone said, (at least then) Jonathan Mover ain't the greatest drummer. On the other hand he didn't have too much time to learn the drum part. Obviously nothing out of the ordinary as the first album is done in it's entirety plus 3 Boats, Charting and Garden. Sound is a bit rough. The concert actually could of fit on 1 CD as it fits just under 80 minutes (but obviously Marillion & Fish wanted 2 CDs per concert - an alternative could have been to throw in 2-3 other "rare" tracks from that era).

CD 3 & 4: London
Another version of Misplaced Child (and chopped into two). True, but it's still a good version. I noticed in a few spots throughout both CDs where the sound was uneven (dipping in volume mostly) but the sound quality is quite good conmsidering it's almost 18.5 years old! Removing MC and you're left with another 70 minutes almost evenly split between the first 2 albums (and lengthy tracks at that for the most part). Fish's comments about what make American women better than women elsewhere is amusing.

Cd 5 & 6: Milan
The best audio quality of the three. The opening is familiar. No real glitches. Aside from doing about 80% of MC (Kayleigh, Lavender & Heart of Lothian as an encore), the majority of the remaining tracks are from Clutching Aa Straws. The concert was actually shorter than concert #2, clocking in at about 97 minutes. Fish (as usual) includes a few political comments that are interesting. Also Fish comments at someone throwing him an apple.

Considering the age of the tapes, overall the sound is very good. None of the tracks appear on La Gazza Ladra (which is good - and I don't think Marillion & Fish would have wanted that anyway). A nice representation of the early years (considering that aside from Recital of the Script there is no full concert that has been officially released).
As for the casing, the jewel cases and CDs are the standard FRC format but with images taken from the case used on the covers. The inside picture used art from that concert's era. The outside case (spread from front to back) is one big image by Mark Wilkinson consisting of a collage of all the characters, themes and images from the four albums plus a few extras (such as the plant that was removed). When I spoke to Mark he said it took him roughly 5 months to work on that piece of artwork including a few revisions (approval from Fish & Marillion of course). Too bad a mini poster wasn't included!
