Subject: Fish 99

Dear Fishheads, Freaks, Fans and The Company,

Just a quick wee message before I head out to the airport for my European soccer extravaganza!!
For those interested I'm playing for Roadrunner Records in an inter record company competition held in Hilversum! Kick off for the first game is Thursday 10am at the Sportspark SC Hilversum!
I'll be early to bed tonight after a night out with the company discussing tactics and the album promotion as well as "what's the next single to be?".

I was at Darryl Sweets funeral yesterday in Kirkcaldy. A well attended event and a good few old friendships were rekindled at the bar after the service. It was tough meeting up with Dan and Pete without Darryl. Life goes on!

So that's the score so far with all the dates confirmed by Friday when I'll post the entire tour so far!
I've been offered a show in Costa Rica, 3 shows in Argentina and 3 in Chile at the moment with the Brazilian, Venezualan and Uruguayan shows being looked at in the next week!
This will mean that the European section should go ahead in mid September!

Only bad news is that Elisabeth Antwi has been offered and accepted the vocal position in her old band Incognito who are reforming this Summer and touring in July and September.
The offer was one she couldn't refuse and she is as gutted as the rest of us at missing out on the tour! Her replacement will be nominated next week and we already have choices! In all honesty it'll be hard to get someone who fitted in as naturally as Liz.

She'll still be playing the shows in Switzerland in May.
The Feast of Hope is being held outside Geneva. It's an invite only affair and tickets are free!
Yes that is the word - Free !!! :-)
To get tickets and details of the Festival send an e or fax to this address and number! : "Pierre Michel Meier" meier at iprolink.ch and Fax: 00.41.22.840.24.14
Pierre otherwise known as Pimi is a great friend of mine and this festival has been a dream of his for years! There will be a number of artists appearing as well as the glitterati of the Swiss arts scene! We'll be playing a 40 minute set or so amongst other performances from artists from all over the world!
It's set in a vineyard and just in case an afternoon with a raingod in Switzerland is a scary thought!
Don't worry, it all takes place in huge tents!!
E Pimi asap as tickets will go fast! Please only apply if you are definitely attending!!

The other shows are at Mullerhoentzigen outside Bern on the 30th and at the Albani in Winterthur on the 31st. These are also acoustic shows and will be Liz's last gigs with us!
Band will be Tony, Wes and myself!
We fly back on the first to begin rehearsals for the tour!

I'm still off the cigarettes and feeling pretty good as it happens! I even have gone without patches for a couple of days. I'm smoking about 4 herbal cigs a day! It's Coltsfoot and mixes well!! :-)
The herbals take the edge off at night but taste horrible. No problem though!
Best day was yesterday when I turned down at least 20 fags!! :-)))
I though it would be the toughest what with all the emotions and all! I managed fine!!
Putting on a few pounds though!! :-((((

To end with I was sent this by Julie Wynne-

Sony Music Wants New Record Deals to Include Website Rights
27 April - DN Wire -- Sony Music is planning to introduce a clause into its contracts that would give the company control over artists' Websites, record industry trade paper Music Week reported Monday.
According to the article, Sony is planning to extend control over artists' Websites so as to fully exploit the potential revenue to be made from selling merchandise over the Net.
The move reflects the growing importance of the Internet as a channel for promoting new bands, but to some Sony could be in danger of infringing artist rights.
"It's like taking over the artist's fanclub," lawyer Sarah Stennet told Music Week. "Sony's angle is that the artist will be better off, but in layman's terms it's an encroachment of artist's rights."
Sony attempted to introduce the new clause into a contract with new boy-band A1. Discussion over the clause is thought to have delayed the deal until the two sides reached a compromise on site-generated revenue."

Sometimes I really wonder hard about this "music" business!!

Sleep tight my lieblings, tomorrow's another war!!!

lots of love
Onkel Fish x
