Subject: Fish 2000 - A Happy New Year to you all!

Dear Fishheads, Freaks, Fans and the Company,
This is to wish you all a very happy New Year and I hope we all see a brighter future and experience a better quality of life in this new Millennium! As far as I am concerned I stare down the barrel at a new career and a world of new opportunities. I am excited and scared as you would expect from a near 42 year old changing horses in swollen midstream!

There is so much work to be done this year and I admit to relishing a new start all round. There are already some extremely exciting prospects and with the US tour in place and moving ahead it promises to be eventful all round.
The news is that the Washington and Philadelphia shows will be broadcast in full on the Net with the Philly show in video as well. The details are still sketchy but Mo will let you know what the score is as I will be leaving on the 8th for Tampa.
The Philly show will I think be hosted on our web site.
It is all coming at us so quickly! It seems only a few weeks ago that this idea to tour the States was put in motion. We are all very up for this and looking forward to meeting old friends and making new ones out there.

I have heard that I have been recommended for one of two roles in the "Metal Gods" movie and my agent is hopeful that at least one will come off. The synopsis and scene by scene breakdown of "Weeds" is now ready and is going out to potential directors/producers in the next month with the prospect of funding for the first draft of the screenplay proper allowing me to concentrate on the project in the Spring. So far signs are great and initial response is making me confident about this side of the new career.

Solid rumours about a boom in Scottish properties makes me feel a bit more confident on this angle and Tammi, Tara and I are desperate to get on with the next house move and rebuilding the ruin which as you would expect with recent weather and time considerations is on hold. To solve the financial strain is the matter most urgent and the prospect of having a near zero bank overdraft after so long fighting against crippling interest rates is this year's Grail!

The year's activities will be put together piece by piece as projects come on line and always ruled by acting commitments. Not the way I normally work and that is itself exciting to some degree. There are enough projects that can be slipped into place at short notice so I won't have any dead time as such. Creatively it's a mosaic of activities, a prospect that is exhilarating after the relative humdrum of album/tour/album/tour straight line movement.

I'd like to say that the first project is on it's way but the Issue 30cd is held up at the moment for a number of reasons. Mark Daghorn and Tony Turrell have still to mix the Amsterdam show, the CD of Koln has not as yet arrived from the States and I cannot trace Elliot who has the Haddington adats. The acoustic Dutch material is not available as a change of management there at the station meant that some articles have been misplaced. Don't worry we will get it together as fast as humanly possible. Now we are back in work mode again all should become less frustrating.

So as the hangover clears and the fog with it I am looking forward to getting this next century underway from a Fishy perspective. Hope you are all well and fully recovered from the festivities!
Talk to you all again soon and once again a very Happy New Year to you all!

lots of love
Onkel Fish x
