Subject: Fish 2000 - The cancelled South American gigs and Brigadoon!

Dear Freaks, Fishheads, Fans and the Company,

As some questions have been raised about the intended warm up gigs in Scotland before the Kosovo tour.
These gigs were marked as TBC. This means To Be Confirmed. Neither towns, cities or venues were ever mentioned. I had been discussing the possibilities with various venues and I had decided to play one show for the Lifeboat Association in North Berwick. Due to time constraints on both sides the gig could not happen. John Young has also been given extra dates on the Greenslade tour and was ending up in Plymouth with all his gear!
I knew this info 2 weeks ago. As there was no mention of venues/tickets etc etc I didn't think it was that important an issue to deal with. I apologise to anyone let down by the cancellation of these 2 gigs and hope it didn't upset anyone's travel plans! :-)

Re USA 1999 - if someone had guaranteed the 25,000 dollar tour losses and offered promotion on the gigs I would have been there in a shot! The record company had withdrawn their support. I couldn't afford the bill!

Re South America - The promoter lost 3 out of 5 shows. To sell out the remaining 2 at around 8 pounds a ticket wouldn't have covered the flights never mind PA/promotion/hotels etc. I decided that rather than put people (including myself) in an awkward position that we would postpone the tour till March and play more gigs when we would have less time constraints.

I hope this helps explain the situation.

Currently booking a gig on Mars for 2003. Red Canal Stadium! TBC :-))))))))))

lots of love
Onkel Fish
