Me too. They're OK, but I just never got how they were these amazing geniuses (genii?). Some of their material is good, but it is usually better when covered by other artists (IMO, YMMV, etc).

Yes, the British music press have been guilty of banging on about them too much for decades, and it does wear thin, when there have been many bands and artists since that have been just as influential in their own ways, but this is not the fault of the band, but those who write about them.
I'm not a fan as such. I don't have anything by The Beatles in my collection, but just because we don't enjoy listening to a particular band or style of music, that doesn't mean that that artist/band is overrated.
I don't like Mozart, but I'm not going to turn around and say he wasn't a very good composer am I?

True Paul! point taken! - when thinking about what you said, guess what i meant to say is that the British music Press and Media overate them (as you say, they do go banging on about them for decades)...

I have never understood why Bruce Springsteen is meant to be so good. I have heard 3 or 4 of his albums and they just left me cold. I don't like his voice. I don't like his music. I don't understand why so many music critics love him.
I've heard him interviewed and he seems like a nice guy.
People have even told me that I need to see him play live, but even when I see videos of him live it just doesn’t do anything for me. The only Springsteen song I have ever liked is one that he doesn’t sing “Blinded by the Light” by Manfred Man.
Am I in a minority ?
