As some might say, it will be toast.

I don't like my toaster! :x - It either burns to a cinder or doesn't toast enough. There is no inbetween, so you have to stand there and press eject, while peering into the slots to see if your bread has been sun-tanned to the optimum level.

See, my toaster has 8 settings of toastness, so you can go from very pale to very dark. It is also wide enough that you could toast a sandwich in there, although I have not tried this. It is a thing of beauty, and it beeps to let you know when it is done.

Then how can you leave him behind Marina?! :? :o - He deserves to go home with you!

See, I don't like toasters either for the same reason as Paul ... can never get it just how I like it. So prefer my grill - unless I can bothered to do it in front of the fire, which I generally can't  ... I think it tastes better, too :)

I think using the grill to do toast is a British thing, but I prefer it. - At least it's easier to see how burnt it's getting.

I am really tempted to. But the thing is huge. Maybe I will ship it together with some books.
Actually, I might!

We have recently started to become very attached to our ice cream maker :)

My kettle - there would be no emergency tea and coffee without it...

Am also rather fond of the washing machine - for years we had a creaky old thing that only added the fabric conditioner when it felt like it, often didn't spin at all and was generally quite grumpy, but last year we bought a new one in a sale after about 15 years of enduring The Grumpy Git machine and our lives are transformed... :)

A toater will automatically get a thumbs-up from me if it makes a satisfying 'ping' sound when it pops the toast up

But with a not-too-aggressive "eject" mechanism though. Losing toast on the other side of the kitchen rapidly becomes irritating! ;)

Well I think that we can agree that there's a difference between toast popping, and jettisonning.

I'm told that there's consideration to take these appliances into battlefields and blind the enemy with a full-force carbonated bread attack.

It's not just my toaster that does this, then? That's comforting to know.
