Why not just have fresh plums in season, they can be very nice, but PRUNES!! Perhaps I am fortunate that my digestive system works well without them. That said, I have a home brew wine settling using beetroot and prune juice. Recent aroma suggests it will take a long time to reach palatability!!?? Very sulpherous!
Oh, and why do those adverts on the TV for products to "ease your going" only ever show women? Probably because bloke eat food & drink beer, that keeps your digestion going!

Ah now figs in the biscuit preparation I can do with a good strong coffee. And for other dried fruit, I'll have some in my Easter Hot Cross Buns toasted with an equal amount of butter melting and dripping down my chin!
