Just back from a short break in Edinburgh and emptied the coffers for now :( Couldn't complain about the weather though! :)

A week booked for the Lakes in September (again, probably a bad move as that's also very expensive, but really can't face going further afield this year).

But definitely can't wait for a (cheaper) break abroad next year :)

I usually find that hols in the Lake District are very cheap, since I spend the majority of them up the sides of mountains! - Going back to Keswick again in a few months. - Always use the same B&B there, which I find very reasonable. - Good thing about Keswick is that unless you like camping/hiking shops, there isn't a great deal else to spend your money on, besides ale. ;)

Escaping the pomp and circumstance of the "Jubillee". Hope the Queen is payer for her party, as it seems in a day and age of "spendign cuts" that rather a lot is being spent on this from the "common pocket".

Our village even managed to get a grant to hold a party, and then decided the headline event will be a dog show.... the mind boggles.

Instead we are heading north on Friday after work, for a long weekend with the in-laws in Northumberland.. Coastal walks, Fish and Chips at Beamish...
