The former would probably make a lot of money if it was in a decent location where there are lots of businesses around wanting lunch at a reasonable price, but the latter would probably be a bit of a loser unless you could afford to take losses.

Alternatively I'd have loved to have been a singer but, alas, don't have the voice. In my dreams, I would have though :) Or a writer. I really envy anyone that can research and write a good book. I can write very well, but I don't think I'd have enough imagination to write more than one book or be a really successful author.

Maybe you could just write one best seller, and live off royalties? :P

I sometimes wish I had the talent and perseverance to be a fictional writer. I think I would enjoy that, but I have never written anything longer than a short story, and I lack the necessary discipline.

The author Harper Lee did just that - she published "To Kill A Mockingbird" and nothing else and today she is still hailed as one of the most influential writers of the past few centuries and that book still appears on school curriculums and tops the "Favourite Books" charts. Awesome.

My dream job would be running a small wildflower garden centre and Cat Rescue Home in Andalucia or Portugal, whilst writing my one amazing novel [like Harper Lee] that would be published in a blaze of obscurity; I would then disappear behind the haze of publicity and live semi-reclusively, quietly caring for my husband, my plants, my cats and my mental health.....

:o :o Blimey!! Music alert - Steve Lamacque is playing "Spirit Of Radio"!!!! :D :D I thought SL was too hip for old air guitar heroes... love this song, just absolutely love it, so add that to the list above as in.."whilst listening to a lot of Rush". :)

Another dream job of mine would be owning a large enough pub(wateringhole) to put in a small stage so that fish could play there on one of his accoustic tours.
Of course i would have the place bedecked in all sorts of fish/marillion memoribillia as an added interest to fans. :D

I am actually currently in training for Secret Taste Tester for all the National Trust tea shops dotted around the country; the NT are not aware of this, but I will submit my findings at the end of the year.... ;)

Current front runners are the Cafe at Avebury [Wiltshire] and the tea room at Buscot Park Estate [Oxfordshire] which both have an awesome selection of home-made cakes; Avebury is the winner at the mo as it always does a selection of Veggie meals and Vegan cakes too - their Vegan Chocolate Cake is the business.... :D

Now that is an excellent job and one to be envious of! - The cafe/restaurant at Sudeley Castle has some really lovely cakes and also does a nice line in Paninis. I could eat their Pesto and Mozzarella ones all day. :)
