Nazareth - Dan McCafferty

Thu Aug 29, 2013 11:28 am

Just read on the Classic Rock website that Dan the Man has quit Nazareth due to health issues. A crying shame. One of the greatest rock voices of all time. Just ask Axl Rose who was hugely influenced by him and closer to here probably Fish too.

Sorry, but I don`t know hoe to attach a link to the site as I am a bit of a technological Luddite.

It was a very sad news to hear. I've been a fan since 70's and seen the band live couple times. I hope they won't hire a replacement. http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/news ... th-return/

Ok, now there's news about a new vocalist. Never heard of this Linton Osborne. Any of you familiar with him? http://www.nazarethdirect.co.uk/website ... t/02/2014/

Haven`t heard anything but the poor guy and the abnd are taking a pounding on the Classic Rock Magazine website for being a "Tribute Act" because of now only having one original member. A bit harsh especially when it all has Dan`s blessing.

I agree. That's not fair. Even if I'm not very enthusiastic about a new vocalist to replace a such person as Dan is, I really don't think that I have a right to be displeased with their decision.

Right now I'm waiting excited the new album and maybe sometimes in the future gig(s) and an album with the new guy.

There are tracks available to listen in the Nazareth's website jukebox which introduce some old tracks re-recorded with the new singer. And dammit, they sound pretty good to me! At this moment there are "My White Bicycle" and "Turn On Your Receiver". http://www.nazarethdirect.co.uk/website ... e/04/2014/

Also something about the new album: http://www.nazarethdirect.co.uk/website ... m/03/2014/

Thanks for that Lauri. I think the guy Linton fits well on listening to the available re-recordings. Sounds quite like Ian Gillan in parts in terms of tone and phrasing.
