Isn't that the same thing.....? ;D

As far as needles in and around the spine are concerned..... Wait until you've tried electrified and heated ones without anaesthetic........ So many happy and fun things our wonderful medical professionals come up with these days!!!!

Good decision!

By the way does anyone else get worried when the specialist says things like "I don't want to hurt you.... So I'll insert this needle very slowly........!!!"

(And yes... My specialist actually DID say that to me while I was lying on the operating table!!....... He has a wicked sense of humour..... I hate him!!!! ;D )

No, I've never heard that one, but because I spend my life around dirty minded teenagers, I can't help but snicker when the nurse is about to stick me to draw blood and says "just a little prick."

But I can sympathize. Two of the needles that went into my neck went in with the purpose of burning out two nerves. I was high on a Fentanyl lollipop (narcotic candy! What do you think the street value of that would be?), so I didn't feel much pain, but I could hear the crackling. :-X

You both get my sympathy vote. I endured a 30 hour labour absolutely refusing an epidural for the thought of the sodding great needle!
Hero or wimp?
... you decide!

Hero....I went through same experience....only because by the time I thought I would have one it was just too late to have an epidural but as the body produces it's own 'pain relief' I don't remember suffering too much....it was all worth it (twice over as well!!) but no more! :)

I've heard people talk about that so often, but after 20 years of daily migraines, I've decided my body is incapable of producing endorphins. So, call me a wimp, but I'd get the epidural.
