That now explain the "Iron Maiden" style lettering used all over the venue (including the toilet signs).

Apart from Fish the best band i ever see there were Geordie rockers "Engine".
Always a good crowd at a "Engine" gig.

Also "The Hamsters". These bands just seemed to live on the road, as you never see them anywhere else. And because of that they were "SH*T HOT" live everytime!

I remember going to see a band there when it was just a pub (called "The Oval" I think) - the band were called Doozoot . Painfully loud but with an incredible guitarist. I found out later the bloke used to play in Nazareth. Watched an old 70's video of Nazareth on top of the pops and there he was - same moustache and hair ... 20 years later. Such talent playing in pubs :-(
