Dear all
I am delivering the plenary speech at the IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language )convention. It's a talk and Fishheads acoustic performance of a few numbers in a 45 minute set and will be broadcast live on
http://iatefl.britishcouncil.org/The subject matter of the talk is how lyrics have helped teach students English as a foreign language worldwide. The listening audience is expected to be around 50 000 teachers and associates but anyone can check into the stream.
You can't get tickets for this but you can watch the live stream on the day.I am on about 1pm.
The stream isn't active yet so don't panic

something slightly different for me and I admit to being a bit nervous addressing English teachers:-)))
love

Very interesting.
I think learning songs in a foreign language are brilliant means to learning vocabulary etc.
I knew songs in english by heart before I started learning it.
I guess having learnt a lot of brazilian songs by heart have also enabled me to understand the language a little.
I'd be interested to listen to this indeed.

Spelling "convention" incorrectly in the header might not be such a good sign!
Seriously, kidding, it'll be fine. There's a reason you were approached and I'm totally confident you'll do a great job.
Sadly won't manage to catch it as will be at work, but if it's recorded, I might be able to catch it another time. Good luck!

Dear fish
Your lyrics have inspired me to many things in life, but most of all to become a teacher of english as a foreign language. So for you to be addressing such a crowd is really special. Thank you for agreeing to do it and i am really looking forward to your talk and performance!

I teach English as a foreign language, so I'm very interested in this. I'll definitely listen to it.
Just remember that teachers aren't any better than anyone else, they just don't know it themselves!
