Deep fried potato wedges and mash ?!

I was a bit concerned about the "deep fried" part of it. Fortunately it wasnt followed by the words "Mars bar" !!!!!

The Scottish healthy alternative to deep fried Mars bars is deep fried Alpen bars. ;)

How can you possibly say that Paul? You've been to Edinburgh! You've presumably sampled fine cuisine north of the border?

Fresh-run wild salmon... Cranachan - with rich tayside raspberries, cream from border herds fed on the best grass in the world, a splash of heathery malt whisky from the glens of the mighty Spey, unctuous honey from tartan bees, toasted Aberfeldy oatmeal. A rare-cooked sirloin of Aberdeen Angus beef served with twice-cooked chips made from Arran Victory potatoes deep-fried in Scottish beef dripping.... Hand-dived scallops from the cool, crystalline lochs of the West Highlands.... Need I say more?

Besides - everyone knows that in Scotland it could only be deep fried Stoats Porridge bars!!!
I want a drink, I want a drink. To take all the dust and the dirt from my throat. I want a drink, I want a drink. To wash out the filth that is deep in my guts.... I want a drink.

I'm sure Geoff would be able to describe that sandwich in a more mouth-watering way Ulli. - He writes the adverts you know! ;) :)
