I have not caught up with everything going on here, but hope everyone is doing reasonably good. I am in Europe now, Manchester precisely. Then off to London and after that Amsterdam. I finished my Masters about a week ago, and I ended up taking the Ph.D offer! So I will be going back to California (like the song!).

I bet you're loving the Californian-style weather!

England's countryside is beautiful. Pretty fields everywhere!

Funny thing is, other times I have been in England the weather was lovely, although it was probably mid-July then.

Yet again, England fail to excite and entertain and go out like the bunch of damp overrated squibs they are. - Good luck to Germany, who have played by far the best and most direct football. - None of that 'passing for no good reason' like Spain.

In other news though. The FA are to launch a campaign to have penalties replaced by a fairer system of settling tied matches.

I am not sure Rooney can play Paper, Scissors, Stone though....
