Jarsis, great news about your job, but sorry to hear about your acquaintance and his violent end.

I have not caught up with everything going on here, but hope everyone is doing reasonably good. I am in Europe now, Manchester precisely. Then off to London and after that Amsterdam. I finished my Masters about a week ago, and I ended up taking the Ph.D offer! So I will be going back to California (like the song!).

I bet you're loving the Californian-style weather! ;)

Yes, what's up with this bloody rain?
I have hardly seen the sun since I got here, isn't it supposed to be summer? Utter rubbish.

We don't have summers anymore in this country Marina! - Just Spring, and then straight into autumn. :(

I am taking a train to London now, at least it is not raining anymore, but the skies are a menacing grey.
England's countryside is beautiful. Pretty fields everywhere!

Funny thing is, other times I have been in England the weather was lovely, although it was probably mid-July then.

You wouldn't think our little island was over-populated would you?! - It always amazes me just how much open space there still is, given the fact we're all crammed in!

I believe its the British Isles, of which England, on its own is just a peninsula?

Yet again, England fail to excite and entertain and go out like the bunch of damp overrated squibs they are. - Good luck to Germany, who have played by far the best and most direct football. - None of that 'passing for no good reason' like Spain. :boredom:

Not quite sure what you're trying to say there Bob? :? - I wasn't suggesting or talking about 'just England', but all of the British Isles. Even though Marina was on a train in England at the time! ;)

Thanks! Let's see what is possible. Italy will be a difficult opponent, England would be better for us in the semi final.

look on the bright side England fans, Now you dont have to look forward to losing on penalites to Germany again..

In other news though. The FA are to launch a campaign to have penalties replaced by a fairer system of settling tied matches.

I am not sure Rooney can play Paper, Scissors, Stone though....
