Sod the football-I have wimbledon now for 2 weeks- and the tv is all mine!!!Previously, I was confined to the kitchen, or bedroom, while that 'crap' was on- but just to say, absent cus I am decorating- its called boredom- decided to paint my hall brilliant white- but now, the 7 bloody doors, which i thought were white, dont look white, so---- they gotta be done-and I started on the bathroom- note, I said started--xx
As soon as you realise, I'm perfectly happy, if I'm left to decide the company I choose.

Two weeks off work for me, but will not be touching a paint brush, I can assure you!
Spent the day lopping away at some rampant bamboo, which was in danger of taking over the whole of one of my raised beds. Ridiculously strong and now have blisters on most of my fingers through sawing. - Might save some of the bamboo canes for when I plant next year's toms.
It's been a lovely day out there actually. Very hot sunshine, though some heavy rain is forecast.
I realise I hold the key to freedom. I cannot let my life be ruled by the bloody threads on this Forum.

Sadly, been to my allotment once since- just to put the bean sticks in- and plant the beans- have promised myself to have a look weekend, but totally lost interest in it.Thought I may use it, but cant be assed-which aint me,truth is,the guy next to us is a completely horrible man, very malicious-and said some nasty things about Andy- but would be lovely to my face-and I truthfully would probly deck him- so thats another reason- I know- ignore, but, cant be doing with the hassle. Anyway,I keep giving the nice 1 finger when I drive by,so he has probly wrecked my beans anyway.

Mar, I love a bit of Wimbledon! Sadly for Dodge, i have to ask him every year about the scoring system...
Commiserations re: 'grubby' doors, a white gloss door that looked perfect before does tend to look mucky in the glare of new paint and doors are such a bugger to paint too. Suggest you ignore the doors, load up on yummy food and drink and plonk yourself down in front of the tennis for 2 weeks
I'm gonna wipe those smiles of self-satisfaction from their eyes..

There is an absolutely incredible thunderstorm going on here now! Proper tropical stuff with lightning flashing constantly, torrential rain and ear-cracking thunder! Very impressive indeed and certainly the most intense electrical storm I have ever seen in this country..... Just before it started, the sky was REALLY black - almost night-time darkness.
Pleased I am still at work and sitting indoors!

It took me an hour and a half to get home last night. I live three miles from work. It normally takes 10 minutes....

Definitelly flipper weather up there yesterday as opposed to flip flip weather down here...
I am still astonished that all around us we hear of thunder, lightning, hail and flood, hey we had the most glorious day and evening, eating dinner outside in the garden at 8pm.!

Was listening to a song I caught over breakfast this morning... When I heard it first, I thought, bloody hell, they've found an old unreleased Queen recording. The more I listened the more I thought, no wonder Queen never released it , it's awful.
And then the announcer informed us that its the New Official Olympic Song , by Muse.
Bring back Englebert, is all I can say..

I don't tend to listen to the radio much now, except for Planet Rock and occasionally BBC Radio Newcastle when we get dodgy weather...
Muse used to be a good band. Now they have become a bloated, pompous parody of themselves with nothing new or interesting to say. It's a shame as they have/had genuine talent.
