Do our partners like Fish and prog?
Re: Do our partners like Fish and prog?
Mine is stuck in the 80's'- ok with abit of Fish, but wouldnt get it in a million years- he is a ABC, Duran, Northern soul guy- fair enough
As soon as you realise, I'm perfectly happy, if I'm left to decide the company I choose.

Re: Do our partners like Fish and prog?
An update to my entries on this thread. Kathryn actually now likes quite a lot of the prog I play, but she's still one for making compilations of individual tracks, rather than appreciating whole albums and the concepts behind them. - Call me anal, but I have to listen to Whole albums. Of course, you will always get standout tracks that work well on their own, but to me, taking a track out of Dark Side Of The Moon is sacrilege!

If a good prog album is all about taking you on a journey, and that journey's a very scenic and beautiful one, why would you want to skip it to arrive at your destination too early?

No longer with a partner, so it's a bit academic, really
Ex-husband used to love it though - in fact, he still does. When I came on here and re-established my interest, so did he and we swapped various CD copies.
By the time I've learnt everything I need to know, it'll be too late ...........

my girlfriend it has to be said is not a great fish fan, although i am stil trying to convert her, thus took her to glasgow and edders last year, taking her to glasgow next month and the convention, if that doesnt do it then i'll be on my own i think, she remembers a couple of songs "kayleigh and lavender" but thats about it, although at edders she was quite impressed by fish's intros and talks during songs as she says "he tells it how it is" which
me, cause when i do that she "nips my heed"

Actually, isn't it libellous when it's written?

Re: Do our partners like Fish and prog?
To be honest, never mind our partners, I'm still trying to work out what my own music tastes are! Eclectic to say the least, and despite loving Marillion/Fish, Floyd, Genesis, King Crimson, Procol Harum and some Pendragon and Porcupine Tree, I still wouldn't regard myself as a 'Prog listener', as there are so many other genres of music I love equally as much, and also a hell of a lot of 'prog' I dislike. - I just love (what I consider) good music.
