That sounds lovely!

Since watching Rick Stein's French Odyssey, I think this would be my ideal holiday...

I want a drink, I want a drink. To take all the dust and the dirt from my throat. I want a drink, I want a drink. To wash out the filth that is deep in my guts.... I want a drink.

Hey Sandy,

You could always come down our way, the beaches are great in the summer.

I'm not planning a big getaway this year. We spent April last year at DisneyLand Paris and I think that's enough for a while. I'll make the most of the local scenery this year and try to hit the beaches with the kids more.

There's nothing wrong with staying on home soil. - If it wasn't for wanting a little bit of hot sun, i might well do the same. - We have beautiful places and great history on our own doorstep. As well as the one trip abroad, we'll probably have our usual weekends in the Lakes, Cotswolds and Pennines. - You can't beat a bit of hiking.
I realise I hold the key to freedom. I cannot let my life be ruled by the bloody threads on this Forum.

I didn't realise that rain was exclusive to the UK.

On a more serious point it is good too hear someone say something positive about Yarmouth........

Well I spent a few days at some friends' and had a very enjoyable time there, there's lots to do and a lot of history in Great Yarmouth, the old herring fisheries, the great walks by the beach, the piers, I've even had one of the best Fish and Chips there!
Not to mention some very nice old pubs in the country side north of Caster-on -Sea! ;)
