You state "by email" because you're obviously working and can't take calls about other employment opportunities - yet they STILL ring you! And they leave a message asking you to ring them back during office hours! :-x Now it's not so much the fact that they ring, it's the fact they've asked for contact preferences and then simply ignore it!!

Not better here... :(
A few years ago, i was looking for a job, and the rule of the employment agency was if you refused 3 job offers that could fit to your skills and they choose, you had no more unemployment benefit... I've been asked to answer to a dog handler job offer  , in which i have absolutely no experience, nor qualifications... I told them that a picture of me and my dog won't make anybody afraid !

:(
Random annoyance : People playing crazy games with their new toy ... http://www.voitureelectrique.net/wp-con ... -Twizy.jpg
Since a few days, on the way back home after work, a mad guy who play with his new toy, at max speed in the street, zigzag between the cars...
You see it left in your rear view mirror, and in a fraction of a second, he is on your right side with a very very silent machine :o taking high risk for him and for you, and for people crossing the street.
:( Twice now, i had to swerve to avoid him.
Hope there won't be too much of this kind of toys in the street...

as I have pointed out to many a foreigner, we Brits, Australians, New Zealanders, Indians, Singaporeans, Japanese amongst others all drive on the right side of the road. You lot drive on the wrong side, that is when you actually remember which side of the road to use, or that there are other cars on it.... :-)

but the reality is, It was all napoleons fault..!

Jousting knights with their lances under their right arm naturally passed on each other's right, and if you passed a stranger on the road you walked on the left to ensure that your protective sword arm was between yourself and him.

Revolutionary France, however, overturned this practice as part of its sweeping social rethink. A change was carried out all over continental Europe by Napoleon. The reason it changed under Napoleon was because he was left handed his armies had to march on the right so he could keep his sword arm between him and any opponent.

From then on, any part of the world which was at some time part of the British Empire was thus left hand and any part colonised by the French was right hand

When those teeny tiny bits of foil on juice cartons or plastic milk bottles don't peel off but snap off leaving the seal intact so you have to take a knife to the blasted thing....

When the cigarette paper you have been wrestling with blows away on a windy day and as you stupidly try to grab it you drop the tobacco too...

When drivers who are behind a learner driver insist on driving too close so end up braking every 10 seconds and freaking everyone else out...

When you put the washing out on a breezy day to dry perfectly and it ends up wrapping itself around the washing line..

When you forget to do up the poppers on the duvet cover before washing it and at the end of the wash it has swallowed everything else and you end up with a big lump of wet washing inside the duvet cover. And a soaking wet duvet cover...

When your cat looks at you and howls for no apparent reason - what can he see/sense that i can't? Freaky deaky!

When said cat trudges endlessly to his food bowl whenever you venture into the kitchen and sits there with that "I'm starving.." expression despite his consuming breakfast/tea just 10 minutes earlier...

When Hubby says: "Have you seen my [insert anything here]..." and i say: "Have you looked for it?" and he says that he has but when I go to exactly the same place, said thing is there for all the world to see [apparently, lifting up a single piece of paper or one book/item of clothing/magazine/CD is tantamount to thoroughly searching].....
I'm gonna wipe those smiles of self-satisfaction from their eyes..

Bloody right! And why is it that Waitrose seem to be the only supermarket that sells plastic containers of food where you can actually pull off the cellophane "lid" in one piece without it tearing or splitting - or that little elevated corner tab thing detaching itself from the rest!!! :x :x
I want a drink, I want a drink. To take all the dust and the dirt from my throat. I want a drink, I want a drink. To wash out the filth that is deep in my guts.... I want a drink.

Oh yes Geoff, I had forgotten those little blighters - "carefully peel back the film lid.."; you'll be lucky if you peel it at all without getting tiny strips of plastic in your food, esp when it's boiling hot. Well remembered... :D
