Peter Gabriel and the New Blood Orchestra

Only one word to describe last nights show at the O2 - Awesome!
I was a bit unsure how it would work out live having found the album quite difficult to get into but I really shouldn't have worried :) PG rarely disappoints and the album took on a new life as a live work, the original PG was even better!
It was also great to catch up with some great friends.
A few other points of note; while we were in the dome waiting to go into the actual a magpie flew past us and landed in one of the large potted trees, whenwe arrived at our hotel there was a Starider bus parked outside as we walked in the entire Stoke City team and staff walked out.. Peter Reid stopped to sin an autograph for somebody and I resisted the temptation to tell him to cheer up:)

Oh yes, got back in time to see Notts winner on The Football Leage Show, luckily for him my Villa loving friend would have missed MotD.

I second Tosh's comments on the PG concert, It was simply jaw-dropping, PG sounded fantastic and the Orchestra brought both 'Scratch My Back' and quite a few of his orignal tracks to a new life.......it was a different type of gig completely but hugely enjoyable......I am hoping that there are more shows later in the year !

So what old stuff did the archangel play ?

Did he mention that he wrote the music that was performed in teh original Millenium Dome show back in 2000.
It was the only good thing about the whole exhibition.

He did indeed and played some of it too :)

Gary posted a set-list just to rub salt neatly into the wound: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3040&view=unread#p53182

Got to say, from what I've heard I am absolutely gutted that I missed it now. Fingers crossed that PG will pull it together especially for me. I'm sure he frequents The Union so it's quite likely he'll read this...
:victory:

Although, Mrs MaxPower loves Downside Up - so she might have been a bit miffed if I rolled in at 1-2am in the morning raving about the orchestral version. Lucky escape!

I may be wrong but I think PG said that there wont be any more after the announced ones.
