I hope Fish sees this. - It could be a viable idea and seemingly one that we'd all be up for on here. - Of course, it would take a lot more pre-pays than those available on this forum alone. - Saying that, i've absolutely no idea how much it costs to produce and record a rock album. Anyone out there have any idea?
I realise I hold the key to freedom. I cannot let my life be ruled by the bloody threads on this Forum.

Yes, I'm not sure 10-15 people are going to be enough for that.
But I am sure there are plenty more who do not post here.

I guess it largely depends on where he records it and who the musicians are. Frank and Foss may be mates, but they are also professional musicians, so will have to be paid at MU rates at least. On the assumption that a drummer and second guitarist are to feature (at least in the recording process, if not writing as well) then two more sets of wages will be required.
Even if it is recorded at the Farm, then the services of a producer and engineer will be needed. They don't come cheap - or at least decent ones don't! That's why you don't want to be writing in the studio, but simply recording tracks that you have already got up to at least a demo version.
In terms of pounds, shillings and pence? Not sure. But I would think that we would have to be talking well over £10,000.
Which is a lot of cash to share out between a couple of dozen forum members!!
Marillion, on the other hand (just because they have been suggested as a model to follow) have a far higher membership on their forum, and far more of those members are active. They get hundreds of posts a day, every day - whereas sometimes there are days on here with no posts at all!
Horses for courses.

I seem to recall somewhere Fish saying that 13th Star cost around £50k. He did do pay-in-advance for Fellini IIRC, not sure about FoC, but 13th Star was available to pre-order about a month before release. Like I originally said Fish might have reason to do likewise this time. If he did do pre-pay there would be more takers than the few dozen on here though.

Totally! I think we forget sometimes how few long-time Fish fans are not active users of this forum. A good example of this is when we turned up to the first gig on the FishHeads Club tour back in June last year at North Hykeham. From the posts on here, it sounded like there would only be around twenty people at the gig! I was quite concerned, I don't mind admitting!
Of course, the dozen or so of us who attended the pre-gig drink arrived at the venue to find it already full!!!
So yes, there would be a lot more than the regular contributors to this forum that would be willing to assist in the process of making a new album. But enough to finance the entire project? Maybe not - but it couldn't hurt, could it?

Re: Next Album- Pay in Advance?
Probably being a bit dim, but how much does it cost to make an album and how many people paying up front would it take? And what's the likelihood of getting enough funds from this method? I'd pay normal album price but are you talking about paying more than that? I know there's not that many folks on here but there's loads on Facebook who I'm sure would be happy to.
Ooops, sorry, just seen this has already been answered (well, part of it anyway).

I'd gladly pay in advance numerous times if it means future music from Fish!
