I agree, I have always thought that what we pay for albums, other shop merch' and in my case a couple of gigs a year is no real repayment for the pleasure that I get from Fish's music. If I was still listening to vinyl, then they would be all well and truly worn out by now.

So paying in advance, more than happy. Paying extra for something like a signed limited edition, count me in on that too. In fact just let me know what I can do.

Seems like it might be an idea that someone needs to put into practice, specially given the cancellation of two of the Denmark gigs :(
By the time I've learnt everything I need to know, it'll be too late ...........

Hello Fish fans,

First I want to say I will always respect Fish decisions.

1. What is the use of 40 something dates in Germany in so small venues? can't get money out of that
2 Better less gigs in bigger halls, more impact less touring more stage lighting etc.
3 same in holland etc
4. The big one will be a reunion now Fish voice is on top, see what the Faith no More reunion did to the solo work of Mike Patton
5. New album with duets, like Dido, Björk etc.
Raise 100.000,- or more on an investment base
6. Record the album somewhere in the world but not in GB.
I will make a good investment on this. Wow what an album will come out of this.

As you noticed? I'm not a musician but an ordinairy businessman.Loving Fish music etc all my life.

Greatings,
Guido, Switserland

Some interesting points, but a reunion with who? :? Marillion are out of the equation.- Fish's solo work needs no extra inspiration. It's already top-notch! :D
I realise I hold the key to freedom. I cannot let my life be ruled by the bloody threads on this Forum.

A reunion tour with Marillion! They will also benefit.
Fish has the lyrics, the looks, the voice & the Rock&Roll.
Marillion only have good musicians!
Or get TOP artists involved in a next album.
Fish has an impressive Cataloque and has written/composed many jewels
An acoustic tour in low budget venues will make b artist of him.
I hope you understand what I mean, my german is better.

Duets with "hot" artist will get the needed attention, sure his solo
Work is ok but to be honest with better musicians it will go to the
Next level.

Duh! Obviously, a reunion with Faith no more! If it worked for Mike Patton... ;)

Reunion? No chance :)

Interesting point about the smaller venues though. I think the point is that these smaller venues and the stripped down acoustic show are less risky financially. you try hiring a full band and taking them on tour with no guarantees (and no new material)!

I like the idea of the duets in principle, but history has shown us that these don't tend to lend themselves to any real success -especially at a time where rock seems to be lacking in popularity in the mainstream media.

As for recording outside of the UK, seeing as Fish has a studio in his own home, I can't see how this would be an advantage.

I do believe the real fans would like the opportunity to get something 'special' for a pre-order and would definitely put their money where there mouth is. it's only fish who knows how successful the last preorder campaign was though, and this would certainly factor into it.

I'd be happy to pay whatever Fish deems necessary for the next album, up front. I also hope he retains a bit of class and foregoes that whole "get your name in the booklet!" thing which I find utterly silly.

Obviously Fish must and should work with whomever he finds suitable for a new album, but if I may be allowed to dream for a bit;

- I absolutely hope he has mended fences with Steve Vantsis, as 13th Star was a brilliant album and more of the same would be much appreciated.
- Years ago, he toyed with the idea of using different guitarists for the various solos on "Fellini Days". Why not revisit the idea for a new album? Give Rothery,
Lukather, Howe etc a call and ask.
- Get a support slot with a major artist. If Marillion can, so can Fish, it would only be good for the profile (and probably keep touring costs down quite a bit).
