Masque book for sale (Fish and Mark Wilkinson)

Postby devoidzer0 on Wed Apr 25, 2012 4:42 am

Hi all,

I currently have the Masque: The Graphic World of Mark Wilkinson, Marillion & Fish book up for bids on eBay. This is a fascinating and beautiful book with Mark's amazing artwork and commentary from both he and Fish about the meaning behind the art. I'm American, however I made the auction available on both the American eBay as well as the UK site.

Americans can use this link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0894383948

and UK folks can use this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Masque-Graphi ... 4ab6cbb74c

UKers, feel free to take advantage of the exchange rate! :) Happy bidding!

You're advertising this book as out of print even though it is readily available from both Mark's & Fish's websites.

Oops! I looked it up on Amazon and saw used copies selling for hundreds of dollars so I ASSumed it to be out of print. But you are right, it is still available. Sorry about that! I have changed the auction description to remove all references to it being out of print. Thanks for letting me know, my last intention was to mislead people. It was an honest mistake. BTW, thanks to the moderators for actually letting me post this (unlike the forums of some bands from Aylesbury with a distinctly Fish-less flavor who I won't mention ;)

Also, not to sound like a total d*** but it would be cheaper to buy the book (incl. postage) from either Fish or Mark's sites. Plus the money goes stright to them. Again, no offence! Welcome to the forum too!

Well, that all depends on the final selling price. For Americans, buying from Fish or Mark's site may actually cost more with the exchange rate combined with the shipping. I started my auction at 1 cent, so I'm definitely not out to make a killing. :D I'm just asking for the fair market price... Thanks for the welcome.

That's not being a d*** at all, it's common sense and also supports the artist!

Guys, lets please remember the forum is international, and what applies to some of us in the UK may not apply in other parts of the world..

I know. A $120 rocking chair bought over the web, and shipped to the Uk cost me around $1000 by the time I was finished...

Lets keep things in perspective.... The internet may be boundaryless... The taxman sure as hell isn't

Why would you want to sell that book anyway, assuming it was yours? :? - It's great! :D

think everyone has their reasons at some time or another if they HAVE to sell their posessions, whether its not having anybody to pass them onto later on in life or maybe the person has fallen on tough times(unemployed) or maybe the person just like to deal in collectable items in general albeit in this case i wouldnt say the masque book is really collectible(money-wise) as it still readilly available from the shop to which i think the majority of people may actually not know that they can by items from fish/markwilkinson web sites as i think people interpet "well if its not in the shops(retail) then it doesnt exist or must be rare". this doesnt suprise me as i have mentioned this on several occassions to people when i am talking about fish and his music, the first thing people say to me is "oh i havent heard any of his stuff for a long time is he still around" as their assumption is based on what they have heard on radio or what they see in the shops, we may think this is quite a restricted outlook on life, but in this modern tech day there are still people out here who dont have access to the internet or may be they have at one time but have had to cancell for some reason or other as well.
we all just have to budget on things, i for one haven't got the book yet! but is definitely on my shopping list but we all just have to take things one step at a time!
me i'm still trying to build my fish/marillion - fish era music collection,
then again everyone is different and to their own tastes.
me i love all my collection whether its just the music or the memrobillia i have, but i know i will have to think later on in life what i am going to do with it all especially if i dont have anyone to leave it to or would want it which is kinda sad in a way but these things are going to happen at one time or another to everyone whether its our fish music or just general house clearing after we've gone. sorry if this sounds a bit morbid, just trying to see this from all angles. :)
