Didn't he announce a while back that he'd be doing a similar thing to 13th Star work in progress but it would be a later timeslot or am I imagining that?

Oooh, you've got me wondering now.

There were "cunning plans" mentioned but I think it's definitely on now... This isn't helping to keep the low profile I aimed for :)

Yes, he mentioned it when posting about the initial convention plans. I'll get me coat.

No idea, but I imagine that it will be leading up to the convention so that there can be material from the writing sessions.
