Hello everyone
Been a fan for a long time and now taking the plunge. My first ever gig was Marillion in Aylesbury in 1986 as a wide-eyed 16 year old. I was then overcome with teenage angst when Fish left Marillion due to the impact they made on my formative years. I have always been a fan of the big man's solo stuff. Now an aging rocker who very recently saw Fish at the East Quay in Whitstable and got to shake his hand during the very intense "Vigil" walkabout. Which of course had the effect of making me 16 again, even if it was for just one night. Happy Christmas to you all.

Re: Hello from Canterbury
Hi Andrew,
What a corker Whitstable was!
I'll admit that there were points where I worried that Fish would receive a head injury, but he managed to avoid that!
I'm over in Sunny Margate, so it was extra special to catch Fish not just in Kent, but SO CLOSE as well.
So feel free to join in the fun here. It might be a little quiet over the next couple of days as many members seem to be on a pilgrimage to Edinburgh, but the banter is always good.

Re: Hello from Canterbury
Many, many thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Can I reply to individuals within a thread? if so bear with me as i haven't worked that out yet.
Have to agree MaxPower that the East Quay Whitstable gig was tremendous. Too many highlights to list here but as you say it was great to have Fish visit our neck of the woods.
My sig Rainbow is actually the motto of my beloved football team (can I name names here without ridicule?
) but it has always had a wider resonance with me.
And thanks to the The Company for the Christmas card and the updates on the back regarding 2012. Can't wait!

Every post contains a "quote" button at the top right - if you click this, most of the hard work is done for you.
You'll find all the regulars here are happy to help so just ask if you want to know anything. Have a general look around and learn the basics first!
There are also a few tutorials in the "Feedback, Q&A, general forum stuff" thread.

We can be a sympathetic "group hug" bunch but you also have to be prepared for a bit of good-natured leg-pulling. By all means mention your fave team - we even have a "Football 2011/12 Season" thread!
