Birling

Postby Fish on Wed Apr 18, 2012 9:26 pm

Day of big fragments. Kitchen platoon arrived late and after a slightly disgruntled painter.Lots ticked off and Andrew, who'd avoided 3 days here to finish the work got caught on the roof in an almighty biblical hailstorm while replacing the velux! Karma :-)

Moving into the end game with only the front hallway to sort out which has prompted the electrician to get his finger out and clear the old fuse boxes. with a stiff breeze the joinery might be done by tomorrow night.

Carpets now glowing an unearthly light now after a good shampoo.Never realised the one in front of the fireplace was so red! :-)

I was once again trapped in legal shenanigans and a long discussion with a friendly and cooperative Indy record label took me down a leafy nostalgic path to the days of retail and "real"record companies. We discussed the current problems both with my present situation re the 3rd party releases and the general state of the music business.By the end we'd pronounced it dead and agreed that my current modus operandi is the only real solution left to artists of my ilk.
The information I received on the circumstances and numbers involved with the "Exile" and "SFTM" releases cued a talk with my lawyer and a plan of action which will be instigated tomorrow.
Another end game i hope!

Communications have been flying back and forward and I at last got a chance to talk to a stage director/writer /producer who is interested in creating a live theater/stage production of "Misplaced Childhood". The ideas are really exciting but it's very early stages and a lot has to fall into place before we move anywhere near forward. it's not a Fish performance rather involving actors/singers/musicians and players from outside my realm of operations and me getting involved in creating a narrative thread/screenplay to tie everything down." A necklace of carnival lights" so to speak!
As I said it's early stages but a highly interesting project that's in discussion.

I spent a whole sore neck on the PC going through publishing calculations and at last have a breakthrough that should enable me to tidy up a large historical segment and allow me to move forward and consolidate elements that have been in dissaray for quite a while and that have been niggling me to the point of exasperation. It's brain numbing stuff and I hate dealing with numbers and calculations.Give me words to work with any day!

Those were the 3 big segments of the day.Big blocks in transition.

Now the salmon has settled and I do too with my Redbush tea in front of the fire where I am about to embark on my first visit to the "Game of Thrones" as the lovely, caring, attentive Elspeth bought me the box set of the first series today! :-)

Found it tough dealing with the FB pages today as Jim Brownlee's face stared at me everytime I opened the screen and I didn't know what to write as my next entry.

Life moves on and the leaves birl down stream, never ending birling, always moving and twirling and only ever touching the banks or a white watered rock just for a pause before birling again to some destination they'll never comprehend their arrival at.

Hello Fish

Just as I was reading your post, "Heroes" by The Stranglers has just come on the radio...

"Whatever happened to those Heroes
The Shakespeareos....

No more heroes anymore... [?]"

Young man, never forget what you mean to so many people - I know you are one of the last people on this Earth to be comfortable with Hero-Worship, but if you can accept that you DO mean a lot to many, that you are loved by so many, maybe that will make the birling calm down a bit and be replaced by a kind of graceful but purposeful swirling perhaps?

Yup, often one of the hardest things to do, to accept that we ARE loved and have a part to play on the Grand Stage, but if you can get the trick down sometimes, it's a good feeling.

Today is Global Counter Culture day, apparently - a day when we decide to, amongst other things, do something out of the ordinary to make the World a better place, to kick against the pricks without causing harm to others. Well, this post is my contribution to that process; I once had a Tutor who said something like: "We often spend so much time wondering what IS the right thing to do, that we usually end up doing nothing for fear of being embarrasssed or ridiculed". Life is WAY too short for that, so I thought: "Aw, what the Hell..." and wrote this post.

Love and peace,

Stella x
I'm gonna wipe those smiles of self-satisfaction from their eyes..
