I've read it this day. Now we can manage all the other things! Ohhh, flights and accommodation are booked. Only the ticket is missing !

No hurry. There is still more than six months to go! You can be pretty sure they will be announced on here long before they go on general sale. I'm guessing that Onkel Fish is still working on the arrangements anyway, so final pricing may depend on what he decides to do!

Afternoon All,

This may be a dumb question, but hey, that's never stopped me before, so here goes:


What goes on at the Conventions? The reasons I ask are threefold:

1]I will probably coming on my own as hubby Dodger is not keen on crowds; this is not a problem as you all sound throroughly decent folks, but a heads up on what to expect would be helpful.

2] Does Fish sing at these get togethers? [If The Big Man always does, then for those of you currently eye rolling and thinking "Does a bear defecate in the arboreal area" etc, please be patient with me as I have never been to a Fan Convention of any sort, ever! ]

3] What is the rough ratio of guys to gals attending?
[i]NB: NOT because I am about to put on my gladrags and become a good-time gal, just that, as a gal attending alone, it would be helpful to know if there are any other single/groups of gals that regularly attend, or indeed some thoroughly decent chaps/mixed groups who would be willing to take a newbie under their collective wing occasionally so that I don't freak out [I also have a bit of AARRGGHh-ness around huge crowds of people; you will ALWAYS find me in the kitchen cupboard at parties..]

Basically the convention is a weekend of Fish-related events with concerts in the evening. Usually fans get together for 'extra-curricular' events which are discussed here among other places. But fear not, an itinerary is usually posted nearer the time and then any gaps we fill with stuff.

Not really sure about the man:woman ratio - but I think it's likely that you'll see more men than women there.

No matter what - it's a good time for all. Great music, great company.
