A beer garden or courtyard like the Sausage would be a wee bit nippy for you guys used to warmer climes! No problem for us Northerners of course.

I can't be more Northerner where I live, and not used at all to warmer climes... Though I remember a BBQ on 1st january ( -5°)...
But yes, would prefer to be inside in october

The Sausage wasn't ideal but they had a good sized beer garden and a small area for a band however the only vaguely drinkable beer they had was spitfire in bottles which they ran out of fairly quickly.
Im not sure what there is locally that is big enough but it needs to be twice the size of the sausage to get every one indoors.

what about the "Assembly rooms" themselves, after the bands have set up their gear and done soundchecks(if they are doing that on friday night) ? or is there a gig on the friday night ? just a thought? i know pubs are more cozy and appropriate for get togethers but is there one big enough, especially when the will be full of locals! As long as the bands gear and everything are cordened off so nobody tries and takes liberties when they have had one to many drinks!

Mos tFriday nights, the Assembly runs a rock legends night... From what I can gather, essentially just a rock "disco"... It brings in punters when there are no gigs on the Friday night. .. But don't quote me on that.


There are a few pubs big enough to accommodate us, however all would probably fall short of the beer connosieurs taste, but with the usual suspects of commercially available premium branded lagers and mixed gas beers.

But its still 5 months to go..

but the last convention was in the "summer", this one (might still be in "summer") is in autumn.

That's the point, isn't it? We're thinking about where in Lemmers we can squeeze enough into a single venue without resorting to the beer garden
